Journey to the best health of my life (yes, the journey includes olives)

My weight (and MIA next week)

I promised you all that as part of the Sprint to May Challange I would take my weight this week as a starting point. Well, here it is:

My weight - January 10, 2014

My weight – January 10, 2014

Eek! Take a breath. Try not to freak out even though it’s up from November (and no, I never did weigh myself again after 30 days).  At least I’m consciously trying to improve my health while trying to drop the weight, right?   It could be worse.  It’s better than being ignorant to it and just letting it get worse and worse.  It’s still difficult to look at those 3.5 numbers though.  I know it’s not all about scale, but there’s no denying it.  I definitely have to lose weight (because it’s definitely not all muscle!).  I’ll keep you all updated on my progress.

I’m leaving the country today for a week for some charity work. It will be an enriching experience and an active week, but I’m not sure how I will do with food.  Unfortunately I’ll be limited in my choices, but I will try to make the best choices possible!  I was going to wait until after this trip to take my weight – but life will always throw you a curveball; something will always come up.  If it’s not this week with the charity, then it’s someone’s birthday, or a work dinner, or chocolates on Valentine’s Day.  I’m done putting off things until later, especially my health.

See you all in a week!

I’m a 30-something female who’s striving to be the healthiest woman I can be through diet and exercise. In early 2013 I was introduced to the world of Paleo. I completed Whole30 and had fantastic results. I had finally found something that worked for me! My blog is a jumble of my thoughts as I take the journey through my life. Somewhere for me to unleash my views, my challenges, my failures and my successes (hopefully!).

  1. Good job! You stuck with what you promised to yourself and us (don’t worry so much about breaking the promises to us as you should about the ones with yourself). You have a challenging week ahead of you, but I think you can come through it with an amazing, fulfilling experience, as well as a weight loss. Focus more on the former though, the latter can always be made up somewhere down the line. I wish you the best on this trip. It’s very admirable what you’re doing. Have fun and stay safe!

    • Thanks – and you’re right – my promises to myself are the most important.

I had a great week and am back safe and sound. I was in Mexico so I’m not sure about the weight (can anyone say tacos?!), but it was probably the most enriching week of my life.

      • Yayyy!!! Welcome back! And you’re just in time to really kick things off with the Challenge. BTW, that week flew by! LOL!

Anyway, I’m glad that you had a great experience and yes, I can understand the obsession with tacos! 🙂 I look forward to reading more about your trip.
